Moguls: They are almost extinct at Summit

Afer 4 days of holidays crowds and no snowmaking Summit's grooming was impressive. The lower mountain had good spring conditions even at 9AM, while some upper runs had an icy subsurface. They did extra work to get rid of hard spots on Summit Run and the Westridge Park. There was occasional drizzle or hail in the morning; I had 3 wet chair rides and was starting to soak by lunch. The weather cut back the crowd, and those who stick it out saw no precipitation after 1:30 and it started to clear after 3PM. The drizzle also softened those morning hard spots. Skier's right of the Wall had ungroomed boilerplate on which I slid 50 ft. about 11AM. At 3PM I went back there and it had softened enough to hold an edge. 22.6K vertical was not bad for first day of the season.
