What a day!! The best powder day I have ever had a Mammoth in my twelve years skiing there. It was preaty much your tipical sierra-cement-one-foot-dump. The top was closed the whole weekend untill monday, when there was a feeding frenzy. Riding up chair 23, there were easily 100+ people hauling down the cornice and the wipe-out chutes. The snowboarders where having a hayday, since they could sit back and plow thru the stuff, even after an hour of trafic. But the freshies didn't stop at 9:30 when I left 23, oh no. There are some great powder stashes on - and -. (I would like to thank the Mammoth Mountain management for the recent changes, it has made some great powder spots.) I would also like to personally thank all of the weekenders who left on sunday, leaving that many more tracks for me. All in all it was an awesome day. (It has to be when you ski 17,800 vertical feet- before noon, every run of which had pow.)
