A breezy day with hazy clouds helped keep snow dry on much of Thunder. Ch. 4 and the lower part of Ch. 1 had good spring conditions in the afternoon. It was a very busy day with all 4 parking levels full, but you could always escape the lift lines by skiing Ch. 1. Thursday night's new snow was very thick and had formed a crust that was usually breakable even with my Volant Chubbs. With these conditions, one run in South Bowl was enough. Most of the runs on Thunder got skier packed by the afternoon with good moguls in Emile's. There were a few hard snow patches, but nothing like the rain glaze last weekend. The main steep runs on Ch. 1, Bentley's, Nightmare and Windslab, were also skier packed and in good shape. Ch. 4 had typical spring conditions, but never got sloppy due to the cool weather. All of these conditions may change by tomorrow with tonight's storm.
