Late October 2024 and early November saw moderate snowfall mostly in northern regions but then trending southeast into Colorado and New Mexico. Wolf Creek and Pajarito had widespread natural snow runs open by Nov. 10. Mid-November storms have concentrated in the Pacific Northwest. Whistler looks like a safe bet for the holidays with a likely 4-5 foot alpine base. Most other regions are at least average, and some areas scheduled to open at Thanksgiving are opening this weekend and a few of them with more than the usual handful of snowmaking trails. California: Total snowfall in inches and percent open or opening date: Palisades 8,000 (25, Nov. 22), Mammoth (17.5, 4%), Arizona
Snowbowl (28, 16%), Mt. Rose (12, 5%), Heavenly (22, 4%). The Sierra has seen the least snow so far but 2-4 feet are expected in the next week.

Pacific Northwest: Total snowfall and percent open or opening date: Hood Meadows (92, Nov. 21), Mt. Bachelor (96, 15%).
Crystal (57, Nov. 22, 31%), Stevens (60, Dec. 6), Whistler (81, 27%). Mt. Baker will open 97% this weekend on a 70-90 inch base.
This is the strongest November opening in the region in over a decade.
Canadian Rockies and Interior B.C.: Total snowfall and percent open or opening date: Lake Louise (35, 4%), Sunshine (40, 21%),
Revelstoke (112, Nov. 30), Kicking Horse (45, Dec. 6), Fernie (62, Nov. 29), Castle (32, Dec. 6), Big White (30, Nov. 22, 20%).
U. S. Northern Rockies: Total snowfall and percent open or opening date: Big Sky (56, Nov. 27), Grand Targhee (64, Nov. 22, 46%),
Jackson (24, Nov. 29), Brundage (54, Nov. 22, 55%), Schweitzer (54, Nov. 22, 26%), Lookout (80, weekends starting Nov. 9, 75%), Sun Valley (15, Nov. 28).
Utah: Total snowfall and percent open or opening date: Alta (59, Nov. 22, 23%), Snowbird (49, Nov. 28), Brighton (62, 15%),
Solitude (45, 3%), Park City (20, Nov. 22, 3%), Snowbasin (20, Nov. 29), Brian Head (9, 15%).
Northern and Central Colorado: The first snowmaking openings were A-Basin and Keystone Nov. 2. Total snowfall and percent
open or opening date: Beaver Creek (45, Nov. 27), Breckenridge (57, 6%), Copper (69, 14%), Keystone (52, 13%), Loveland (43, 7%), Vail (47, 16%),
Winter Park (45, 10%), A-Basin (35, 1%). Expansion beyond limited snowmaking runs is gradual until after Thanksgiving.
Southern and Western Colorado: Wolf Creek opened October 22 on 26 inches of snow. Snowfalls and percent open or opening date:
Gothic Snow Lab 34, Monarch (37, Nov. 22, 30%), Purgatory (30, 9%), Telluride (42, Nov. 28), Wolf Creek (71, 100%), Aspen (49, Nov. 23, 6%),
Taos (49, Nov. 28). Pajarito, New Mexico opened one top to bottom lift and about 3/4 of terrain Nov. 9 on 44 inches snowfall.
Northeast: No one opened during a warm October in New England or eastern Canada. November snowmaking has been intermittent,
so Nov. 15 Killington opened 3%, Sunday River 2% and Whiteface opened 7% weekends. Snowfalls: Jay 13, Stowe 19, Sugarbush 16.
