Late October 2024 saw moderate snowfall mostly in northern regions but then trending southeast into Colorado and New Mexico. November weather has continued active in the same regions. Wolf Creek and Pajarito are the only areas with widespread natural snow runs open. Snowfall totals in italics are estimates from Open Snow
California: Total snowfall: Palisades 8,000 14 inches, Alpine 10, Mammoth 5, Arizona Snowbowl 28. Mt. Rose has opened 5%
and Arizona Snowbowl 12% on snowmaking and Mammoth will open Nov. 15.
Pacific Northwest: Total snowfall: Hood Meadows 40 inches, Mt. Bachelor 41. Crystal 33, Whistler 53.
3-4 feet more snow is expected next week, though with some rain at base elevations. Mt. Bachelor will open Fri-Sun starting Nov. 15.
Canadian Rockies and Interior B.C.: Total snowfall and percent open if applicable: Lake Louise (25, 4%), Sunshine (30, 7%),
Revelstoke 61, Kicking Horse 26, Fernie 25. 2 feet more snow is expected next week.
U. S. Northern Rockies: Snowfalls: Big Sky 37, Grand Targhee 27, Jackson 12, Brundage 26, Schweitzer 25.
Lookout opened one day Nov. 9 with 36 inches snowfll and will be open next weeknd also. This week's storms should be 2 feet
in the interior northwest and one foot elsewhere.
Utah: Snowfalls: Alta 33, Snowbird 28, Solitude 27, Park City 13, Snowbasin 10. Up to a foot of snow is
predicted next week. Solitude opened a beginner run this weekend.
Northern and Central Colorado: The first snowmaking openings were A-Basin and Keystone Nov. 2. Total snowfall and percent
open if applicable: Beaver Creek 32, Breckenridge (40, 2%), Copper (55, 3%), Keystone (44, 2%), Loveland (35, 1%), Vail 31,
Winter Park (35, 3%), A-Basin (29, 1%). Up to a foot of snow is predicted next week. Expansion beyond limited snowmaking runs
is not that likely until Thanksgiving.
Southern and Western Colorado: Wolf Creek opened October 22 on 26 inches of snow. Snowfalls and percent open if applicable:
Gothic Snow Lab 27, Monarch 27, Purgatory (30, 4%), Wolf Creek (66, 95%), Aspen 38, Telluride 41, Taos 49. Pajarito, New Mexico
opened one top to bottom lift and about 3/4 of terrain this weekend on 44 inches snowfall. Less than a foot of snow is predicted next week.
Northeast: No one opened during a warm October in New England or eastern Canada. November snowmaking has been intermittent,
and no one is open yet.
