2025-26 Ski Season Progress Report as of November 1, 2025

Mid-October 2025 saw widespread moderate snowfall. Late October and upcoming early November storms are confined to northern regions, with the most snow in western Canada. Snowfall totals in italics are estimates from Open Snow

California: Snow totals are all from Oct. 14-16: Heavenly 10 inches, Sugar Bowl 10, Mammoth 17. Most of this snow has melted and there is at least one more dry week ahead.

Pacific Northwest: October snowfall: Hood Meadows 18 inches, Mt. Bachelor 18, Crystal 27, Whistler 61. Rain/snow lines are mid-mountain at most areas, but it's clear that the Whistler alpine is building a deep base.

Canadian Rockies and Interior B.C.: October snowfall: Lake Louise 16 (open Nov. 7), Sunshine 21 (open Nov. 2), Red Mt. 22, Whitewater 38, Fernie 39, Revelstoke 35, Kicking Horse 13. As in the Northwest lower elevations are getting some rain.

U. S. Northern Rockies: Snowfalls: Whitefish 19, Big Sky 15, Grand Targhee 29, Jackson 17, Brundage 10, Lookout 27. These areas will be on the southern edge of next week's storms .

Utah: Snowfalls: Alta 17.5, Solitude 19, Park City 5, Brian Head 8. Next week is predicted dry.

Northern and Central Colorado: The first snowmaking openings were A-Basin (1%) and Keystone (3%) Oct. 26 and Winter Park (3%) Oct. 31. Snowfalls: Beaver Creek 4, Keystone 9, Loveland 13, Vail 3, Breckenridge 6, Steamboat 7, Winter Park 8. Next week is predicted dry.

Southern and Western Colorado: Snowfalls: Gothic Snow Lab 3, Monarch 4, Aspen 8, Telluride 2, Purgatory 0, Wolf Creek 1, Taos 4. Next week is predicted dry.

Northeast: No one opened during October in New England or eastern Canada. Snowmaking should start next week but will likely be intermittent.
