California: Recent snowfall: Palisades 8,000 9 inches, Mammoth 4. A few more inches are predicted this weekend,
not much after that.
Pacific Northwest: October snowfall: Hood Meadows 16 inches, Mt. Bachelor 12. Crystal 10, Whistler 36.
2-3 feet more snow is expected in early November.
Canadian Rockies and Interior B.C.: October snowfall: Lake Louise 10, Sunshine 17, Revelstoke 4, Kicking Horse 15, Fernie 1. The
1-2 feet more snow is expected in early November.
U. S. Northern Rockies: Snowfalls: Whitefish 2, Big Sky 15, Grand Targhee 12, Jackson 2, Brundage 9.
Next week's storms should be at least a foot in the interior northwest and the Tetons.
Utah: Snowfalls: Alta 16, Snowbird 10, Solitude 14, Park City 7, Snowbasin 4. Just under a foot of snow is
predicted next week.
Northern and Central Colorado: The first snowmaking openings will be A-Basin and Keystone Nov. 2. Snowfalls, mostly since
Oct. 22: Beaver Creek 10, Breckenridge 8, Keystone 29, Steamboat 10, Winter Park 9.
1+ foot of snow is predicted for early November.
Southern and Western Colorado: Wolf Creek opened October 22 on 26 inches of snow. Snowfalls: Gothic Snow Lab 19,
Monarch 8, Wolf Creek 35, Aspen 15, Telluride 22, Purgatory 30, Taos 14. Up to a foot of snow is
predicted next week.
Northeast: No one opened during a warm October in New England or eastern Canada. Snowmaking should start next week
but will likely be intermittent.
